About Us

Joe established US Stone & Stucco in 1988, and took a hiatus from the business in 2010. He is bringing decades of experience, innovation, and creativity to the new and improved US Stone & Stucco, taking off again in 2017. He’s certified with many stone and stucco suppliers, but specializes in Dryvit and Masterwall materials.

Joe’s entry to the business was not your typical “my father’s father’s father before me all did the same work.” Joe started in this industry when his brother’s friend opened up his own stucco company, and begged Joe to come work for him. Joe refused and refused, knowing that he didn’t want to work for anyone else – just himself. So instead of starting from the bottom up at someone else’s company, Joe started his own company and hit the ground running.

“We cross the ‘T’s, dot the ‘I’s, and put the period at the end of the sentence.” – Joe Flok, Owner

Joe runs his company like a well-oiled machine. He oversees every project, and ensures that all the work is done right the first time. At the end of every day you will find Joe looking over all the pictures his foremen took that day on the progress from all current projects. No project is too big or too small for Joe and his crew – and the more interesting the job, the better! Since Joe prefers to stay local, he will always be close by to take care of any issue that may arise. Contact Joe at US Stone & Stucco today for project ideas, or a quote, and come home to house that puts a smile on your face.

Quality Assurance Against Water Damage

US Stone & Stucco prides itself on taking every precaution necessary to correctly apply your stone and stucco. Unfortunately that does not mean that other companies take the same steps necessary to prevent elemental damage to your property. The biggest culprit, and the one seen causing a lot of damage before it is caught, is water. Water damage can be caught early if you call us to do a home inspection, where we can certify that there are no underlying issues.

Similar to what has become a common problem with shoddy synthetic stucco application, improper installation of manufactured stone veneer on exterior walls has led to serious concerns about water damage. When the veneer is saturated with water during a rainstorm, it holds rainwater right up against the framed wall. With little drainage or drying space, housewrap (or building paper) and flashing have a harder time diverting the moisture. If care is not taken during installation to cover every detail properly, serious water damage may result under relatively normal weather and seasonal conditions.

Manufactured stone veneers share many similar concerns with synthetic stucco. Proper seams at windows and doors are important, and building paper or housewrap must be lapped correctly in order to keep water diverted from the framed wall. Water can penetrate the wood-frame wall and cause damage if the seams aren’t properly managed during installation.

For peace of mind, have US Stone & Stucco come and assess the state of your stone and stucco. If damage has already occurred, we can take care of replacing damaged stone, apply new stucco, and replace wood trims with stucco to prevent further damage in the future.
